Alexis Murphy is done messing with the wrong kinds of men. She could not be happier planning a personalized Grace Evangeline wedding with her fiancé, Jeffrey, who is so right for her. Or is he?
Stage star and spokesmodel, Bo Corrigan, could be the ultimate disruption. Alexis—Exi—is caught by his talent and sexual magnetism. Yet under the glow, she senses trouble, not only danger from Bo’s past mistakes, but something inside tearing him apart.
From the moment Bo sees Exi, he knows she’s special, but not only that—she’s real. Unlike the theater scene he’s been immersed in, she sees the man he is and won’t stop until she’s reached inside and brought that person from despair to life … if only they have time.
With violent forces against them, can they get beyond the damage to love that heals and restores?

Told you Twice – Book Review - by Kristen Heitzmann: Alexis (Exie) Murphy is engaged to the ‘perfect’ man and looks forward to a Grace Evangeline wedding and a happily-ever-after life. She’s willing to give up her talents and the essence of who she is in order to have the stability she craves and to make Jeffrey happy. Then she meets Bo.Bo Corrigan is a talented New York stage actor and model. No woman can resist him, and his playboy lifestyle and gambling are the stuff of legends. But all that is the persona he wants others to see. When he meets Exie, he is shaken to the core, for she sees the real man beneath the role, and she senses the tragedy, sorrow, and guilt that drive him in his brilliant performances. Bo convinces Exie that they need to explore the connection between them, and so Exie puts her engagement on hold and starts to get to know this complicated man. Unlike Jeffrey, Bo encourages her to pursue her many talents, and Exie’s extraordinary ability as an artist and musician begin to unfold. Then Bo’s past catches up with him, and dangerous forces threaten to destroy their fragile beginning.
I loved this book! I’ve read all of Kristen Heitzmann’s books, and it is an understatement to say she has a gift for character development. The people in this story are deep and complicated, with good qualities opposing their faults, weaknesses, and messy lives. They are searching for happiness and love, but they don’t know how to achieve it. I loved Exie’s goodness and her positive outlook on life, and I ached for her. She doesn’t see that Jeffrey will snuff out the creative flame within her, and that eventually she will be an empty shell. As an artist, I enjoyed her exploration of art and the overwhelming need to create what is within one’s soul. As Bo’s story unfolded, I mourned for his troubles and the tortured person within who needs to be loved and to find a purpose in life. I also really enjoyed the continued story of Grace Evangeline and Devin Bressard, who are now married and raising their little girl. Devin is over protective of his cousin, Exie – and who can blame him? Grace worries about everything, and their amazing verbal sparring from Told You So continues. In the background is Eileen, their wealthy friend who plays parent to them -- matchmaking, protecting, and loving, even when her own health is in jeopardy. This book also takes a compassionate look at those who are homeless and struggle with mental illness and drug addiction, and the heroes who reach out to them. Kristen Heitzmann proves that a story can be gritty, real and superbly moving without including a lot of swearing and graphic sex. She has written a beautiful, complicated book that touched me deeply. I recommend it to everyone. Five Stars!

Told You Twice Told You Series Book 2 edition by Kristen Heitzmann Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Couldn't put the book down. Great writing and an emotional read. This is for anyone who doesn't want the usual love story. Enough grit to make you wince and cry, uplifting enough to make you rejoice. Looking forward to the next in this series. Many thanks to the author.
I really enjoyed this book! I had read the first one, Told You So, and loved it so much I couldn't wait to read the second in the series. Kristen has a way with connecting with the characters so that I feel that I am a part of the story as well. I love the characters and their flirty banter and the things they learn about themselves and each other. I look forward to another one very soon I hope!
I love Ms Heitzmann's novels, the ones I've read so far, at least. Told You Twice is a one of the few books that brought tears to my eyes. Deeply emotional with real, difficult issues and situations, this book will shadow me for a while. This isn't a light-hearted read, it's a book that touches the inner places of your heart, mind and spirit - if you let it.
Wow! Just wow! It's one of those books that grabs you, pulls you in, and refuses to let you go. Book one was the same way.
The series is written as it should be, all characters flow into each book. Love, love, love Devin! And Grace. Bo had to grow on me. And he did!
I can't wait for the next book!
Bo is fighting so many demons and Exi is so insecure. Their shared flaws and need to be known, really known, keep you turning the pages and cheering for them to find themselves and each other in the process. When we listen to the voices of the world too long we forget the beauty that each one of us has deep inside. When we slow down long enough to listen for the one true voice that values us above all else, we start to find the true beauty and joy that life has to offer... if we just keep our eyes looking up! I Loved Bo and Exi's story.... I couldn't put it down.
When I read Volume 1 of this series, it was the first time I had read Kristen Heitzmann; took a chapter or two to get into that book. Ms. Heitzmann has a true talent for authoring. A little bit of romance, a little bit of mystery (or minor violence), and a lot of Christian. She has a great insight into different character personalities (just like in real life) and smoothly weaves everyone into her story.
I enjoy Volume 2 just as much, maybe even more, now that I have become a fan of hers. Blessings to Ms. Heitzmann from me.
I didn't like it as much as Told You So. The Christianity seemed mystical and ritualistic instead of surrender to and love for Jesus, regardless of desires. Spoiler Alert - It seemed they just got married quick because they had no control of their sex drives. They weren't even dating exclusively before he disappears (and has sex with other women) and the day he returns to her life, she wants to get married ASAP -- no seeking God's will or working through issues they haven't dealt with (they barely know each other). And the church wouldn't bless it for a year? That didn't make sense to me. It was a good story how he gained perspective, but only implied he gave his life to God. And we're they really going to look for a ring while she was still wearing the guest room robe, or did I miss something?
